WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT:

Miss Kendyl Lane Olds Weds Mr.  James Donald Beaird

Kendyl Lane Olds of The Woodlands, Texas and James Donald Beaird of Porter, Texas were united in marriage at 5:48 p.m. in a double ring mountain ceremony on June 28, 2014 at Four Points Lodge in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

The Reverend Jay Wright of Steamboat Springs, Colorado,   performed the ceremony on the patio of Four Points Lodge under a log arbor beautifully decorated with wisteria, lights and fabric.  Four Points Lodge sits on the side of Storm Peak at over 9000 feet above sea level overlooking all of the Yampa River Valley.

Parents of the couple are Daniel and Tracy Olds of The Woodlands, Texas and Mr. Jim Beaird of Porter, Texas and Mrs. Betty Beaird of Humble, Texas.  Grandparents of the bride are Pauline Freeman of Conroe, Texas and Daniel Olds of Bridgeport, West Virginia (both in attendance).

Given in marriage by her father, Daniel Olds, the bride wore an ivory satin strapless wedding gown featuring a mermaid silhouette with bubble hem and chapel train...  The gown had a sweetheart bodice with delicate pearl and crystal beads accenting the empire waist.  The bride wore a tiara with a matching fingertip veil enhanced with pearls and crystals and she carried a bouquet of white roses wrapped with ribbon.  Following tradition, the bride wore a blue garter and as an Aggie bride – a new maroon garter as well.  She had a 2.00 bill in her boot given to her by her Great-Grandfather, Frank Brake specifically for her wedding day. Her something old was her same Great-Grandfather’s signet ring.  She borrowed a strand of her mother’s pearls to wear.

Attending the bride were: Tasha Marie Proske, sister of the bride from The Woodlands, Texas; friends of the bride, Tiffany Robinson, Houston, Texas, Dawn Renken, Houston, Texas, Paige Jeanes, Spring, Texas, and Chandra Ford, Robinson, Texas.   The attendants wore dark violet organza gowns featuring an empire waist with satin ribbon and ruffle accents.      They each carried a bouquet of white and pink roses.  Bella Proske, niece of the bride, carried a pillow with the wedding bands.  Scarlett Proske, niece of the bride, was the honorary flower girl carrying the flower basket while she was in turn carried by Grandmother, Tracy Olds, and the Mother of the Bride.  The ring pillow and flower basket were carried by Kendyl and Tasha in their Aunt’s wedding in 1988.  They were restored and embellished for Kendyl’s wedding.

The groomsmen were friends of the groom: Joe Pugh, Spring, Texas; Hantse Costas, Magnolia, Texas; Nolan Moss, Spring, Texas; Rhett Kirk, Bullard, Texas; and Bob Arnold, Woodway, Texas.  The ushers were Dave Phillips, Tomball, Texas and Jesse Ballow, Nacogdoches, Texas.

The rehearsal dinner was a themed roast and toast hosted by the bride and groom at McKnight’s Irish Pub in Steamboat Springs, Colorado on Friday night prior the wedding.  All wedding attendees that had arrived were invited and many fun stories were told at the expense of the bride and groom.

The newly built Four Points Lodge was the perfect backdrop for a summer wedding in the mountains of Colorado.  The Olds-Beaird Wedding was the first held at Four Points.  To reach Four Points Lodge, everyone had to ride the gondola, and then ride a shuttle from Thunderhead Lodge to Four Points Lodge.   The view from 9,000 feet was incredible and the sunset the wedding guests experienced was spectacular.    Purple Mountain Majesty was a fitting theme for the wedding. Tables were decorated with burlap and lace placemats and hand-painted table signs; candles in mason jars, and purple and ivory hydrangeas in mason jars enhancing the country lodge theme. A reception hosted by the bride’s parents immediately followed inside Four Points Lodge.

For their honeymoon, the bride and groom stayed in their condo in Steamboat Springs, Colorado enjoying white water rafting, mountain biking, hiking, road biking, and relaxing at the hot springs.       They will reside at their new home in Spring, Texas.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of The Woodlands High School and a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and is a Senior Reservoir Engineer with Anadarko in The Woodlands, Texas.

The groom is a 1991 graduate of New Caney High School and a 2006 graduate of Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor of Business Administration concentrating on Finance and Economics.  James is Vice-President of Sales with Templar Tactical Firearms.

There will be a Texas Wedding Reception at The Olds Ranch in Anderson, Texas on October 25, 2014.

 ++++++
And yes there was.  The Olds Ranch hosted the event for 200 folks.  We enjoyed brisket that melted in your mouth, smoked turkey breast, sausage, with all the BBQ fixin's. We had a BlueBell dipping station and wedding cake.  We enjoyed the DJ who also broke out his guitar and sang for us.  The kids ran, played and dug in the dirt pile.  The big boys shot at some targets and we had clay shooting.  There was a lot of porch sitting and swinging on the porch swings.  We had fabulous weather, good food, and GREAT company.

GETTING READY FOR BOOTS, BBQ, & BLUEBELL

GEESSHHHH....
Where has this year gone!
We welcomed Scarlett Chase Proske on October 15th, 2013.
Had another Ranch Party in November, 2013.
Hosted the Margaret Montgomery DAR Chapter Family Picnic, May 2014.
We had 2 cuttings of hay of this year as we had rain for a change.
They are shooting seismic on the property.
And just lots and lots of other stuff......

The big news is Kendyl got married....
Yep, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado on June 28th to James Beaird.
The New Mr. and Mrs. Beaird built a new home after selling their previous abodes and are moved in and getting settled as newlyweds and new homeowners.
They have already added to the family - adopted a retired racing greyhound - Welcome Abbygirl to the family.

I am writing this to announce The Annual Olds Ranch Party and Texas Wedding Reception for Kendyl and James Beaird.

It will be held on October 25th, 2014 beginning at 11:00a.  It is a catered affair - Dustin who catered Tasha & Curt's wedding is helping us out there - cooking our BBQ brisket, sausage, and turkey.   We have wedding cake AND  Jim Beaird is supplying us with a BLUEBELL dipping station.
Hence -  BOOTS, BBQ AND BLUEBELL is our theme this year.  We have booked entertainment and a DJ.

The weather looks to be great from Monday looking to Saturday.   Hope it stays that way...
Hope to see you at The Ranch!!

HOWDY HOWDY!!

It has been a very busy year at The Ranch.

We are anxiously awaiting a new granddaughter any day now.  Bella will be a big sister soon.

We cut 95 bales this spring and have been selling hay all summer.  Summer did bring little rain, but it has started raining again so we should get a second cutting.  We still have green pastures and they were green all summer.
The tank is holding great and we have stocked some fish and they are growing.

Getting ready for The Annual Ranch party next month.

Next posting will be the invite.
Hope everyone will be able to attend.
