AC/DC for Dan's Birthday

Yes, that is correct!! We scored tickets for the AC/DC concert on Sunday 12.14.2008 and we celebrated Dan's birthday early. We stayed in the Hilton next door to the Toyota Center after the concert so we could enjoy the whole event. Before the concert we had a lovely dinner at Pappdeaux's on Richmond.

WHAT AN EVENING!!
Dan and I have seen all the IMPORTANT rock bands of our youth at least once.. AC/DC was the last. The concert was fabulous. You would never know they are in their golden years because the can still ROCK!! There are many You-Tube videos posted about the opening of this concert. It was awesome.
I was on my feet dancin' for alot of the show... I had a hard time sitting still... In fact most of the audience was on its feet for most of the show.
This one ranks up there as one of the best... although I will have to say that my all time favorite band for live performances is Aerosmith.. (I've seen them 3 times and each time was fabulous!)
ROCK ON!! (Although you would never know it by the picture below... Dan was just as excited as I was about the concert.)

Our 30th Wedding Anniversary Party

Dan and Tracy recently celebrated their 30th Wedding Anniversary. Their daughters, Tasha and Kendyl , hosted a Texas-sized BBQ dinner and dance on November 22, 2008 at The Grand Palace in Spring, Texas. About 120 close friends and family members attended. Guests of honor included Tracy’s two sisters – her Matron of Honor, Kelli and her daughter, Shannon (both from North Carolina) , and Whitni (from West Virginia). A highlight of the evening was a slideshow of their early years of courtship and marriage in West Virginia.

On October 14, 1978, Dan and Tracy were married at Wesley United Methodist Church in Morgantown, WV and the wedding was followed by a very small reception at their home afterwards. For their 30th, Dan did not want to renew their wedding vows as he has stated he has not worn out the old ones yet. (That applies to new wedding rings as well - the couple are still wearing their original gold bands.) So, he elected to have a party with alot more folks this time... and it was just that.. good food, great cake, sharing stories among friends and family, and dancing.

We hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

Here are some pictures to enjoy:

Tracy --getting a little sisterly love... (An amazing note... my Sister Kelli - one on the left - has also been married for 30 years this year AND my sister Whitni - one on on the right - has been married for 20 years this year.. We know how to pick good men and how to keep them!!)
